Wow! this is getting tired... If you do not wish to comment constructively on what I actually proposed in this thread, fine. Move on...

For the record no one said anything about a concpiracy...

... also, I now understand Texrat's earlier fishing analogy.

Umm, sorry to rain on your parade, but Open Source Software is all about freedom.

Freedom as in speech, not necessarily beer. Some do make money in the OSS world.

Ah... clouds clearing... sun returning... fish biting...

I know of plenty of OSS that is sold via retail channels. So its NOT always about free.

for the n810 the bar was set low as to who got a developers discount. I wrote a small script to change some settings for the 770 and answered a few questions on itt. This time if they give out discounts for 500 people, a karma of 60 will be needed. That's if karma is all that is needed.

Well I truly hope hope you earned yourself a device with your vigorous defense of a position that no one attacked dude. Peace.

...and for the record I will now restate the thought that prompted my participation in this thread.

I am glad Nokia took the initiative and got devices in the hands of some of the community before the general release.

The possibility that a particularly helpful and knowledgeable young man may have a new N900 as he begins a new school year kind of makes me proud to be associated in a small way with Nokia and this community.

    @ Texrat
