I think the only thing that makes sense is syncing with the Zune software. Seems rather redundant to replicate the UI. And syncing the n900 to a Zune HD seems kinda odd.

Meh. Syncing the devices together is the only logical one for me, as I consider the tablets to be laptop-replacements. But I guess the OP probably did mean syncing with the Windows software, bleh.

Thanks guys. And i do have a zune hd and love it. Now i cant say i have 100,000s to invest. But I have a few thousand. How bout zune syncing that would be great. Ive been a nokia fan in the usa since the n90. But the media player experience has been a little lame. And no nokia music service here either. So no comes with music. But I do have a zune pass. Im new to maemo so go easy. I know flashy themes arent everything but its all ways nice to have eye candy. And itunes i just cant do it. Im open to buy an xtra zune hd it if it would help push the maemo media player experience. Thanks again.

@ laughing man try out the zune 4.0 software on your pc and check out the social. Whats the difference between sync.ing with itunes vs zune? Just give it a try.

My main operating system is Ubuntu so I'll have to wait till next time I boot into XP (or if I get the student discount for Win 7 and upgrade it then). Though I have been meaning to give the Zune software a try.

It depends on how locked up they have syncing. I'm guessing both allow you to do general mass storage syncing though that wouldn't support Zune Pass and I doubt that would support encrypted .m4a songs that Apple use to sell. I know iTunes allows syncing if you create your own software to do it (Blackberries have their own software to sync with iTunes) but if you try what Palm is doing with the Pre which is pretend you are an iPod through USB code you just end up playing a cat and mouse game of Apple blocking it and Palm updating it (bad for the users)

Though one thing you may think about..if this isn't Microsoft sanctioned if they upgrade Zune software then you just have paid money for software that no longer works.
PS: I'm not a programmer so I can't help out in that regard.

How do you have it synced? Is it a "PlayForSure" device?
