Since I'm working in the same sphere, I can suggest you to change your tactics. Try not to stand in the center of the marketplace and shout "I want to help somebody! Ask me!" but to come to the specific project and ask if you can help with something. That's what I'm doing most of the time

I've been doing that as well, but I think there must be a better solution here. Maybe a sort of resource list that developers can view (if there isn't one already) that lists names/emails/qualifications for assistance?
