I was going to flash my N800 (release date purchase, woo!) to the latest release. So, I went over to find the latest flasher utility here and, lo and behold, there's no flasher utility for the N800 and Mac OS X. I'm figuring that the 2.0 flasher will work, but I don't want to risk bricking my device. Have any braver souls than I had any experience flashing their N800s on OS X?

As far as I know the flasher doesn't work on OSX and you can't use flasher 2 either so we're a bit stuck. I happen to have a Windows box but not having an OSX flasher is a bit of a pain.

I've successfully flashed my N800 to the latest via Mac OSX using the 770 Flasher app -- http://www.bleb.org/software/770/

Works great!

I tried that last night... didn't work.

How'd you do it?

I definitely did not do anything special...

Make sure you remove your memory cards and disconnect from power with a good solid charge.

I just successfully flashed my n800 using my PowerBook G4. Initially the 770 loader didn't see my USB port. I also had a similar problem with my PC. It finally worked when I plugged into the USB 2.0 port.

Yeah - I've got the PBook as well ... guess that USB 1 port won't help us much anymore.

Flasher worked perfectly for me: G4 PB, OSX 10.4.7, N800.
