Bundyo, on a related note, where is your libwebkit that accompanies Tear for Fremantle?

It's no biggie but I'm seeing some Kanji, Katakana and Hiragana text weirdness using Tear.

It even shows up a few places here and there while visiting this forum.

What character encoding should I be using for straight up, ignorant English?

    Thanks!

Was wondering if anyone could tell me what to type in the %s for url box in the preferences for pidgin to get it to open links in Tear?

(OK, this is a bump. I thought I'd ask again.)

Is tear unable to save files?

I really like mucahidz's version of Tiddly Wiki:

    http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=32046

Its html files can be saved in MicroB, Firefox, and Safari; but not in tear. Is there a tweak that would make it possible to save? Should I file this as a bug?

its fully able, its just that as it uses wget to do the http downloading, and wget have some issues with urls that do not end in a clean filename (basically it do not understad get style urls. hell, i dont think it understands anything beyond http 1.0), resulting in mangled filenames...

just insert whatever filename you want and hit save...

btw, i wonder if we should try and get curl updated for tear usage if the community ssu project takes off. That is, if it can be done without breaking something nokia related...

I'm not sure what you mean.

There is a Save button that is part of the TiddlyWiki itself; but there is no Save menu item in Tear itself. (In MicroB, there is a SaveAs menu item.)

When I click the TiddlyWiki's Save button, I get a javascript message:

"It's not possible to save changes. Possible reasons include:
-- your browser doesn't support saving (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari and Opera all work if properly configured)
-- the pathname to your TiddlyWiki contains illegal characters
-- the TiddlyWiki HTML file has ben moved or renamed."

So I can open the TiddlyWiki in both MicroB and tear, but I can save changes only in MicroB. (MicroB has its own nuisance, in that you get many, unnecessary Javascript warnings; but that's not an issue for this thread )

Uses CURL currently. But it seems you two talk about different things. tso for downloading files and GeraldKo for Save As functionality. And yes, there is no Save As in Tear currently.

    Did you try with this?

    Code:
    /usr/bin/tear %s

    in 0.3.1?

and yes, i was starting to suspect it was not about downloading from the forum or some other place, but rather saving changes from inside a html file, not sure about that one...
