I would purchase a shell for gaming on the N900. I'm looking forward to playing some psx classics, and the keypad just isn't going to cut it. Of course, I could use a bluetooth controller (and this is a last resort) but I'd rather have something I could clip to the unit.

I'm interested in a gaming shell for the N900.

Also, you guys might want to limit emulation to consoles that are no longer being sold or are available otherwise emulation heads into straight up piracy.

    +1
    i'd buy one too,
as anyone heard of zeemote its a bluetooth one handed gaming controller for mobile devices, its a joystick with 4 buttons.
i have one and use it on s60 theres a app you use with it called zeekey so you can map keys and save mapping profiles , i would love to use it on n900 only problem is theres no dedicated keymapping application for maemo, so i dont think it will work well

The PSP capabilities look very close to the PS2, and that can current only be emulated by mid-level laptops or above with decent graphics hardware. I've run PS2 emu on my laptop (Core 2 Duo at 2Ghz with integrated graphics) and it runs poorly (some games are unplayable). My laptop is a much better performer than the N900. I don't think we'll see a reasonable performing PSP emulator for the N900.

... but I'd love to be proven wrong!!

In any case, it would still be a good project to start, as hardware is bound to improve over time, and the code will exist for generations.

Alex Atkin UK, would you be a customer for a n900 gaming controller shell?
ArminS - a long time ago you worked on porting an amiga emulator, didn't you?
Just wondering what the status is - but maybe obsolete if the Pandora one is runnable on the N900.

By the way, I would def. be up for a gaming controller shell.

Eh? There are different games for different systems. I don't recall the PlayStation version of Trauma Center.

Well, I thought it's a matter of game quality, not exact brands. PSX has huge gaming base, from simple but good looking arcades like Einhander to deep gameplay like FF series. Hundreds of AAA games in your pocket - why would you want something nearly impossible when you have such a treasure here and now.
