Hi,

I thought to share a cool idea with the community. Having seen the alarm clocks in many many devices, I though that the entire process can be done in three clicks.

This can be done by creating an analog clock with 12 radio buttons for hours and 60 radio buttons for minutes . And of course a 'Set' button. The hours go to an outer ring and minutes to the inner ring. And some cool clock graphics to the center with automagic update from the radio buttons.

How does this sound?

I'll try to mock up a prototype in the coming weeks, so have patience .

Sounds pretty sweet, Could hide the radio buttons and base it on location that is touched sets the hand there, the inner ring and outer ring would still work the same. That is how I imagine it anyway

Nice looking! I'll keep following how it goes. I can't contribute myself, I am just future end-user myself and not much more

And.. since I didn't want to start another clock thread, I try, without hijacking ask a simple clock related question... Would anybody be interested in writing clock software or implementing to a existing one, Binary Display?

if someone is interested I should still have the python+sdl code for this
somewhere (second 15 for something that could remind a bit the locusf idea). A clock is a nice simple project for helloing the world of new devices or languages.
It doesn't use any frameworks so no radiobuttons to base the application on but could be interesting tojust trying to implement the idea from scratch.

Interesting idea. I would have the inner ring for hours and the outer for minutes, to make it more like the little hand and big hand on a clock. Also, those buttons look tricky to press. It might be better if the two rings were wider and separated a bit, and the user could drag some arms round to the preferred time. By dragging, they can more easily get into the required spot.

Interesting idea, though unless you really want to feel like digging your feet into the coding you might have more fun taking a look at FlipClock (the upcomming new version is very quick and customizable, so perhaps you could make a custom theme for it to make it into want you're after....)
Trust me when I say that the idea of an alarm clock might seem very simple, but to do it properly and well takes a lot of time and hard work! Good luck though, if you want some help with anything let me know I'l try to share my experiences with Flip...

Your mockup is pretty close to what I had in mind. I think it's a good start.
