Hi,
I can use my N800 on my wpa network at home with no problems. However, on the open wireless network my job provides, my network capability is limited. I can only access the Tableteer pages. I have a valid IP address, and I can navigate around the http://n800.tableteer.nokia.com/$WHATEVER - but nowhere else. Gizmo won't work, my GAIM install can't connect - it's odd. My connection settings don't include any proxies (I checked it out using the connection manager, which is also where I verified I was getting a valid IP address from our address range). Has anyone else seen this problem?

Lots of people on this board are having network problems - we think there's no connectivity. Has everyone checked that they CANNOT connect to the tableteer site via the applet/browser? This is an odd and frustrating problem - any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Tavares

Just another quick note - is there an official bug report forum for the N800 that exists? Or a website? I apologize for the questions, but I've only had my tablet for a couple of days, and have been learning as much as possible as quickly as possible.

Hello,
I'm new here. Have had my N800 for about two weeks now, and it's pretty slick. Having problems today, but only with GAIM. The program starts up and then just promptly closes. I briefly see the word "unknown" pop up in the header of a window but the window is gone before I can read anymore.

Everything else is working hunky dory, though. Any ideas? Could this be related to your problem? Thanks!

This sounds like there is a problem with the network connectivity out of the netwok. Maybe only port 80 and 443 (the "web" ports) are open?

GAIM will use another port.

I actually uninstalled and reinstalled GAIM and now it seems to be fine.

So who knows what happened!

when you can only get to the tableteer.. has any one run
netstat -nr to check there default gateways.. or
ifconfig -all
or cat /etc/resolv.conf
maybe there is a dns problem.
