Second question: In my 770 i have a 1Gb Kingston MMC (2Gb in the mail). I noticed that when i load up the MMC with a lot of files (5765 files in 86 folders, 190Mb free) the devices gets slow even when you are not using those files. Is that right? Or am i connecting two unrelated things here?

Thanks again,

Ton.

I haven't tried that, but I'm not surprised - FAT is not a fast filesystem, and having thousands of files on an FS is often a good way to show how bad it is.. but I haven't actually tried this myself, so this is all conjecture at this stage.

How can you have a 1 Gb card with 2 Gb in mail, that's impossible.

Nothing a good Dremel can't solve, I'd guess...

It actually is!! I have one 1Gb MMC in my 770 and another 2Gb MMC on it's way to my house address. It's actually being transported by a mail/messenger service. Don't know if it's DHL, UPS or any other service that is delivering it.

But, coming back to the topic of this thread, if i have a lot of files on my MMC, how could that affect the performance of the 770 if i'm not accessing the MMC? The files i have there are only used when i'm running Canola (they are photos, videos and music).

Doh, you mean you have 2gb physically in snail mail, i thought you meant 2gb in email.

I've got over 1 gb of files on mine 2gb card and can't say i've notice slowing of my 770, that is until one day I turned off virtual memory on my memory card the the 770 ran like a slug. Are you using virtual memory on your memory card?

For the record: You are in fact talking about RS-MMC cards, right?

Because MMC cards don't fit in a 770 (well, they do fit, but without closing the bay door, they're at most a nuisance).
