Meanwhile, I just found and bought:
"NEW RUBBER HARD CASE COVER For Nokia N900 BLACK"
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=280409355085

It'll take 7-15 business days to arrive, so perhaps my N900 will arrive before it (whimper!), but I figured it was worth a try given the price: £2.79 GBP / $4.55 USD

The price may also mean it's less than awesome, but there's not exactly a big selection of N900 protective choices out there. I'll post when it arrives.

Oh, and I also contacted ZAGG /InvisibleShield, BodyGuardz and bestskinsever to ask if and when they'd have a N900 product. All gave "not yet, but if there's enough interest..." type answers.

Ah I did a real quick search and didn't see an accessories thread, but maybe my search terms were not broad enough.

I was thinking about emailing the screen protector companies, but I think you've already gotten the answers I expected.

I don't think I'm going to put a shield on the whole device as it seems the body of the device shouldn't be scratched too easily (matte etc.) but I def need the peace of mind of having something on the screen.

I've never been a fan of rubber cases as I feel like they trap dust and just rub it against the device, so I'm looking for a leather case, like the one posted earlier by Spinnakur or the official nokia one (though it is entirely open on the one side)

So at the moment:
Bluant Q1
Screen Protector
Case
Extra Battery
Portable Charger
Bluetooth mouse?
Portable Bluetooth keyboard

That's about all I have lined up for it as of now.

Do you mean a bluetooth device you can plug your USB thumbdrive into, then tether wirelessly to your N900? To compensate for the lack of USB Host-mode?

If so, I've searched hi & lo for one too....no joy.

Might still be worth it - if enough people email them they might possibly put a higher priority on production?

I'm debating whole thing vs screen too. I'm horrible for dropping phones though - so perhaps whole body would help with floor contact related scratches.

I agree re rubber skins -have one on my Treo 680 - and while it's great protection, it sticks a bit in the pocket, is a bit of a lint trap, and invited the comment "Jeez, that thing looks like a hockey puck". I'd like not to detract from the gorgeousness of the N900, especially when I taunt the iPhone jockeys with it!
