I have a N800 and I'm trying to listen to the streaming content
at www.npr.org

Am I the only one who can't get this to play? Media player opens
but never plays anything. I don't get any error messages so I'm
not sure if it is a support issue or something else...anyone?

Thanks!

Media player doesn't understand smil files.
So you have to download the smil file then feed the media player with the url you find in it ...
I thought that KMPlayer would be able to do just this but even if he register to deal with smil file It doesn't do anything with them ...

Hope this helps

Fred

PS : if you send me your email address by PM I'll send you the feed from the Media Player

For what it's worth, I went to www.shoutcast.com, and searched for 'NPR'. The stream they offer from NPR plays without problems on my N800. I'll also try the stream at npr.org, to see if I have different results.

Yeah... shoutcast has LOCAL NPR stations... not the network national
programing. Not to mention I can't choose the story I want to hear and I have to listen to fund drives!

Hmm.. I think I saw those feeds, too. However, I selected the one that was labeled just īNPRī. I probably havenīt listened long enough to hear the local station chatter.
