On the N770, there was a problem with build construction of the housing for it. Basically, cracks appeared in the case where the charging plug and/or the mini-USB connected to the case. Is this problem being found on the N800 or has Nokia resolved it?

It was resolved in later models of the 770. I don't think the N800 has been out long enough for any stress cracks to appear.

I might add, I've had my 770 since Dec 2005, lugged it around daily in my pants pocket, and no cracks have appeared.

Same here. Those first batches didn't have WSODs, either.
