T-mobile wil launch an 'ameo'. It is difficult to discribe what kind of apparatus it is. It runs windows mobile. The 'ameo' seems to a produced by HTC. I can add url's but they are dutch or german.

To me the apparatus is a competitor for the nokia's internet tablet series...

If it's running Windows then it sounds like it's already killed itself.

" HTC has blurred the lines between a smartphone and an ultra portable notebook by unveiling the Advantage X7500 at the recently concluded 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. The X7500 shares a similar design with notebooks, opening up to reveal a 5" VGA touchscreen display, an impressive 3 megapixel camera and a VGA camera for video calls, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, TV-out, integrated GPS functionality with TomTom Navigator 6 pre-loaded, an 8GB hard drive, and a miniSD memory card slot for expansion options. Battery life is rated at 8 hours, but that depends on how you use it. Pricing details are still unavailable, but we do know that the Advantage will be released in the European market this March via T-Mobile under the 'Ameo' moniker. "

No WiFi mentioned here at this site.

Not my cup of coffee though.

Maybe it will run decent speech-to-text, which Linux hasn't got, or maybe it would be compatible with Audible audiobooks, which Linux isn't, or with Napster, which Linux isn't, or maybe it will have good text-to speech, which Linux doesn't have.

I hope that Linux gets this stuff, because I've given up all of them just for Linux. And I often wonder why I've done it.
