Many pre-installed application is too sure that resolution is 800x480, so they can't be used in portrait mode e.g. application menu and task switcher. (This has own threads)
But many Linux application from wild do not guess anything and they might be even better to run in portrait (calculators, some games).
I would like to know proper way to use portrait mode? I just compiled x11-xserver-utils-7.4+1/xrandr on scratchbox2 and copy binary to n900. Now I can do ./xrandr -o 1
But I think there are some better way to do this, so tell me?
