Has it occurred to you that if the n900 really did have this new and exciting thing, it would be way high up on the feature list? I would be really worried if it turned out nokia didn't think of advertising this - it would mean it's run by *****s.
Also, iirc the delay was said to be somehow feedback-related. I know marketing can't really be trusted, but i doubt they would lie outright about this, and i also doubt the feedback was panning the lack of a new and as yet unseen technology

    1) like N800 with radio embedded but not in list. like N900 with radio receiver present but not in list,.. sometimes happens. it's a marketing rule: a little of mistery can attract new clients.
    2) if present, it will be implemented with maemo 6, not now. It's a bad think in marketing to say: you have also a last technological display resistive multitouch, sensitive finger press but you have to wait about 1 year and more to use it because the software (maemo 6) isn't ready yet!(not before the end of 2010)

    convinced?

(the language is spanish. around on 3rd minute spanish guy says about the display: resistive and capacitive..)
The guy has no idea about that, and even clearly admits it later on.

does multitouch need specific hardware to run it in mobile or it just depends on software only ??

I guess it's true nokia did leave some features in the dark in the past. It's a weird decision i don't understand. It's exactly the opposite of the flashy iphone promotion crusade, and maybe it's part of the reason nokia is not the maker of the phone everyone compares/benchmarks against.
Anyways, resistive multi-touch is not just some regular spec, which might as well not be there, such as fm radio. It's HUGE! It's something utterly new, which may have the opportunity to turn capacitive screens intro obsolete trash. Think about it, if you were a nokia big-wig, what would you have the developer drones do: facebook app or something innovative with the potential to make the device stand out even more?
Don't get me wrong, i do hope it has this easter egg inside and we get a nice impressive present somewhere down the road. It's just that i've seen so many pieces of crap ultra-hyped into shining, it's hard for me to believe they'd leave such a gem in the mud (damn, i'm poetical!)

I really hope Nokia put in Stantum's technology in their N900. Even though N900's resistive touch screen is good enough for a lot of users, multitouch capabilities just open up more application possibilities to developers.

Lol well i guess it's clear that we want stantum multitouch! Don't think they'd slap it in at the last moment like is being suggested speculated about here but if they did do that it would pretty much kick everything elses butt.

This forum has been a SUPERB showcase of superstition, faith and mysticism in past few weeks.

People have generated chatters among themselves to fabricate new ideas, creating buzz and frenzy among themselves to heighten their own faith of it and scorning 'the gods above' when they realize their self made beliefs did not pan out as the prophecies they've made themselves.

    Please go on
