What maemo and ovi mean?

Do you have any idea where the word "maemo" comes from? Is there a meaning?
Same question for "ovi".

Ovi is finnish for door, dont know about maemo.

Not sure but believe that maemo stands for Mobile Applications w/ Emo.

I think "maemo" does not mean anything, sounds a bit exotic.
"Ovi" is a door in Finnish

It's not where it comes from, but Maemo doesn't sound that exotic to me: It's just one letter short of maaemo (= mother earth in Finnish).
