Currently adding units is a matter of editing source, the following file being the key
http://github.com/epage/Gonvert/raw/...c/unit_data.py

Either we can add your units directly or look into another way to add/store units

Fun, looks like it wouldn't be that hard to have a UI to add them fore you

It seems the last of the major issues are resolved plus some optimizations have been done. Tomorrow night I will get some packaging done for it

Included is a screenshot of what it looks like on my desktop.

Gonvert is in Diablo's extras-devel and seems usable.

I just pushed it to Fremantle's extras-devel and still need to do some testing on that to see how usable it is.

Would you be able to play around with the Diablo version to provide feedback as you wait on the Fremantle version?

Yes, it's definitely usable on Diablo. Would it be possible to reduce the font size of the units area and/or increase the height of the button you tap to access the "Categories" chooser?

I generally increase the size of the list of units to help keep them finger friendly. What I do on Dialcentral is just not increase the font size of each column. I still haven't decided what I want to do for Gonvert though. Should I leave them all small, some small, or all large?

I need to stop being lazy and figure out how to increase the button sizes. Its "easy" in Fremantle but last I checked, the Python bindings don't expose it.

Testing fremantle version right now charging up n810 to test diablo version. I love large font on bottom, but I would also like a bigger button for categories and maybe bigger text entry box its kinda hard to click as well. working great though.

I just uploaded a new version of Gonvert.

Changes
  • Larger Category Button
  • Alignment of numbers by decimal place
  • Shrunken text for other columns
  • More? I can't remember

EDIT: I'm wanting to prep for a 1.0 / Push to Fremantle Extras.

Besides needing a bug tracker, I would love to hear feedback on issues in moving to a 1.0.

Also let me know if there are any feature requests for post-1.0
