The fact that Nokia still has not told retailers when to expect the N900 is troubling. It makes me think that there are still problems that Nokia hasn't solved and feels are significant enough to delay the release. At this point, I could seeing them delaying until they could combine the revised initial release with their originally planned Christmas software update.

On the one hand, that's good - I'd rather have a product that works. On the other hand, people are making buying decisions every day and potential customers are going to the Droid or other phones rather than waiting. I worry that Nokia is missing their window of opportunity.

Nokia never give dates to anybody before the day of release . As stupid as that sounds that's how it is .

I've just ordered N900 from Nokia Uk. They said it would ship next week. I got a confirmation email of my order a few minutes later which said shipping would be 3 or 4 weeks. Got worried phoned after sales they said it wasn't released so couldn't give date, got more worried! Phoned the UK sales line again and they said ignore the 3 or 4 week thing and that it would definately come to me next week. I'm exhausted with all this, but hope it will be worth it.

Well, I am sticking to newegg's original date of November 14th. Hopefully that is correct, then next week would be right on target.

That's just nokia generic email sent out to everybody who orders online . I ordered begining september and got that email and also when i ordered the n97 & n82 .
