On a somewhat unrelated topic (w.r.t the previous few posts), did the bookmark app ever get updated to be able to create folders?

No.

What I've done which works pretty well is just use Google Bookmarks, but not the one on iGoogle. I keep a few bookmarks in Tear's bookmarks (like Skweezer, my email, this forum, and the bookmark for Google Bookmarks) and everything else in Google Bookmarks.

I also keep in the Tear bookmarks, a bookmarklet for bookmarking webpages into Google Bookmarks. Just use the tear bookmarks manager and manually add or edit a bookmark with this as the URL:

javascript:(function(){var%20a=window,b=document,c =encodeURIComponent,d=a.open("http://www.google.com/bookmarks/mark?op=edit&output=popup&bkmk="+c(b.location)+"&t itle="+c(b.title),"bkmk_popup","left="+((a.screenX ||a.screenLeft)+10)+",top="+((a.screenY||a.screenT op)+10)+",height=420px,width=550px,resizable=1,alw aysRaised=1");a.setTimeout(function(){d.focus()},3 00)})();

[Easier to copy like this?

Code:
javascript:(function(){var%20a=window,b=document,c=encodeURIComponent,d=a.open("http://www.google.com/bookmarks/mark?op=edit&output=popup&bkmk="+c(b.location)+"&title="+c(b.title),"bkmk_popup","left="+((a.screenX||a.screenLeft)+10)+",top="+((a.screenY||a.screenTop)+10)+",height=420px,width=550px,resizable=1,alwaysRaised=1");a.setTimeout(function(){d.focus()},300)})();
You'll need Javascript turned on for the bookmarklet to work, but I find it all quite convenient. It also lets me add bookmarks that I'll use on tear when I'm on my full-size computer (even though I don't use an online bookmark system on my computer's browser's).

Currently no since the detection in CURL is not very good.

For some quick, simple browsing it's good though.
FYI, tear does support copy & paste using the "menu" key. It does work with maemo.org too. The issue with things like "Quick Links" is easily resolved - just scroll down a little and the menu choices are there.

I use Tear almost exclusively (although maybe not for videos). It is simply too good for microb to keep up

The issue is that sometimes selection is jerky & has lags in response time. I have noticed this as well, for example when composing responses for this forum. It has been frustrating at times, but has not kept me from using Tear.

i think i mused on that earlier in the thread, wondering if it could be related to some interrupt wired up to the buttons or something. Not that i know if there is something like that there at all...

i guess an alternative would be what nokia did in maemo5, a pointer mode, or at least a checkbox in the edit part of the menu enabling selection mode in favor of page drag.

Hmm, by the way guys, what would you say for Zeemote support, is it too geeky? Lying on the couch and browsing on the TV with connected N900?

Well, you don't need to while browsing
