    Evince takes 4 ever, anyone knows a free utility to make load faster pdf files..

    Some tests here have shown that deleting any information in the PDF file makes it load way faster than any other PDF.

    Tried x-pdf?

    Try converting your pdf into the djvu format, which evince opens and is way quicker and smaller.

    The osso-pdf-viewer rendering engine is xpdf (although version 3.00 from 2004, not the current 3.02).
