Its so disappointing Nokia can't get anything right....its been released/shipped should mean the customer can get it straight away...not weeks later!!!!
I'm interested in which companies you are familiar with that are able to get tens of thousands of devices out of the door the first day the shipping starts.

However, according to Mobil's quote, Klas Ström said they would probably delay the delivery, so it is not definite.
I hope so, but in the following quote from the (same) article on mobil.se he goes on to state that he hopes people will understand that Nokia Sweden will wait.

Informing customers that the N900 doesn't work yet with 3 is enough IMO, and so far shop.nokia.se has done just that, and have ensured people that the N900 will ship without the update. I'll believe it when I have my N900(:s) in hand or when I can track the shipment.
The post on Nokia's official blog, Nokia Conversations leads us to believe that the N900 will still ship, and that the update for the 3 SIM:s will be released later.

And by the looks of it, Nokia has not made the decision to hold back the deliveries of the N900 in other affected countries..
I wrote to shop.nokia.se yesterday informing them about the bug in question (5315), the statement made in the article, and that I want them to send the device to me without the 3 SIM update. I haven't received a reply yet, but I'll report back when I do.
The strange thing is that it only refers to this operator and no mention to Swedish 3 as an issue. Its a case of Sweden Nokia being cautious! This should not affect other operators in the Swedish market. Unless, 3 operator in other countries purchase sim cards that is manufactured in Sweden which I sincerely doubt.
Personally, there seems to be no logic behind the decision! Also no explanation why the delay!
My understanding of Apple's logistics is the same as for Nokia - the factory ship to staging points then once the mass has accrued it is then shipped to distributors. The difference here is that Nokia announced when it was shipped from the factory as opposed to further down the line when shipped from Distributors.
By the way did anybody attend that chat with Nokia Sweden on the Mobil.se site and what was the outcome of that chat session? Was there a question about why the delay to Sweden, everything mentioned about the shipping to Sweden seems to be here-say!
It hasn't happened yet. It is taking place this friday @ 1500. Friday the 13:th.. Oh, my.. *Shivers*

I hope they still ship personally! I have Tre aswell as Telenor and I dont care if it doesn't work for Tre. I'll just use the other operator in the meantime. What I don't get is, why Nokia Sweden should delay if other countries have the issue too. like I say bad call. Lets hope they deliver regardless!
