So we apparently have a Maemo roadmap now. I can't understand those things, so I tend to just skim over them and focus irrationally on the first thing that captures my under-achieving attention.

"WiMAX"? So what's that doing there then?

You're not the first to ask.. as far as I know that would need hardware support (some WiMAX chip or something). So what it's doing there must be for some future hw, presumably - not the 770/n800. Oh well.

Ahh, but didn't someone mention finding something WiMAX related inside the N800?

And according to Texrat, the FM radio was not the fabled N800 hardware easter egg...

Is there actually WiMAX in the real world, though? I'd rather have USB host be the easter egg (Schroedinger's Easter Egg: it can be anything until we know for certain ;-))

Yep, WiMAX been running in the capital of Denmark (Copenhagen, for those of you thinking "Hmm, isn't Denmark the capital of Sweden?" ;-)) for about a year now, as an alternative to wired broadband connections. Flatrate 256Kbit connections going at about 20€/month, so finding a WiMAX chip in an N800 would make it my ultimate dream machine :-)

So Nokia, go out and fetch me some of that WiMAX !

I can't see WiMAX coming to the UK for at least a couple of years - not something I can see myself using on a N800.

The roadmap is currently here btw - may change later:
