There are no plans at this time, but we've been throwing around the idea of email thumb print recognition.

Well, yeah, it is generally expected for a firmware update to have that effect and you do get warned by the NSU software.

It means feature freeze and branch happened on week 42. After that they have concentrated on bug fixing. The 11 is build number.

    Search the archives.
But in general it's unlikely to "quickly" implement this stuff within 3 weeks.

(Removed bold as it hurts my eyes.)

It's always been Nokia's policy to release when it's ready.

Is there anywhere the firmware update file available (summit version aka 1.2009.41-10) ?

Just for the case if the rollout version includes less functionality than we already have in the summit version?

So we update first, check if everything is included - ok. Stay this way.
If not, go back to 41.10 and get the necessary files to extract for 42.11.

Anyone has the firmware file for 41-10 anywhere?

I'm pretty sure they haven't released 41-10 for separate download, and probably never will.

If so - how to get a firmware file out of a running N900, then?

So you perhaps could make your own really full backup of your system - including everything.
Oh, I wish back the Sharp Zaurus times where a full NAND backup was available in the BIOS
