I was at the Nokia NYC Store today and was told that the USB charger for the N800 will be coming soon, and they are on order.

The very nice woman knew exactly what I was asking. I will call tomorrow and ask about the case.

Is it really for the N800? I'd have said the USB cable would work with any Nokia device comptaible with the new small tip adapter (ie. phones, 770, N800 etc.)

I purchased a Nokia CA-44 3.5mm --> 2mm adapter cable on ebay:

I'm using a Nokia E70 right now, which (I think) uses the 3.5mm tip. I purchased a ziplinq retractable charging system for it, which included a 6V booster that is required for the E70 to charge off a USB port:

I'm hoping I can just use the CA-44 and connect it to the ziplinq kit's tip so I can charge my N800 and my E70 from my powerbook on the road. I'll let y'all know if it ends up working...

I received the CA-44 adapter cable, and it works like a charm! Now with the ziplinq kit I can charge from my powerbook, or using the combination A/C and car adapter. Sweet.

Looks like the CA-100 USB charging cable for Nokia devices with 2mm power adapter (ie. 770, N800 and all new Nokia phones) is now - finally - available from Expansys UK.

It's quite expensive though at £14.95. I'd expect it to be a bit cheaper from Nokia direct but there's no sign of it on the Nokia UK web site. A more realistic price would be £7.50, tops.

On Nokia site, the N800 is not listed in the compatible devices for the CA-100, but it says "CA-100 is compatible with all phones and accessories with 2mm plug". Weird.

got myself a speedy usb 2mm from ebay via hong kong. Winning bid of £0.10p + £3 postage. Very reasonable.

I have a similar solution, but hey, who wants to carry TWO USB cables in the inner pocket. Wouldn´t a simple mini-usb-to-2mm adapter be suitable? That way you can bring your standard USB cable for data transfers and connect the adapter in beteen whenever charging is desired. Slick, huh!
