the difference is most other manufacturers don't announce the existence of products until its 100% ready to ship giving them a month to get it to market.
nokia always announce things way earlier than others when phone is in development still ,
so its a choice between openness or not knowing existence until it's ready to hit shops.
the n97 was announced like 7 or 8 months before released, where as the iphone 3GS was announced like 2 weeks before it was in shops.
would you rather not know at all or be part of the ride ?
I don't like this ride.
You can announce coming technology. You can run kewl adds saying coming soon here's what we're bringing you.
Pre-Orders and delivery dates need to be handled differently. That's where they screwed up. It's available! WTF does that mean!
You can't really defend that practice, don't try...
I don't think Amazon is going charge you the new price. Like I said before the previous price is the preorder price, now the device is coming out so they are shifting into regular pricing. For anyone that orders now they will have to pay the new price.
Maybe the Nokia blog post was supposed to read N900 has landed in ITALY and FRANCE.
WTF Nokia? WTF happened to it LANDING and being AVAILABLE in the freaking US?
Oh, funny thing happened............you know N900 landed in the US............well it turns out they just needed to refuel before continuing to Italy. So itīs taken off again, but it was available on the tarmac for about an hour or so.
