its sunday but i received a mail from Nokia.co.uk.. i just asked them again if there is any updates on the release date and also about nokiaretail.co.uk, if they are connected or not they said...

Nokia Retail is under Nokia. The release date of N900 is by the end of November 2009.

Hi I thought I'd register just to let you know that I preordered mine from Nokia.co.uk last week and also called and spoke to them on Friday. The response I got was that they were physically in their warehouse as of last week. The people who ordered a while ago should be getting theirs sent on Monday and the rest will be towards the middle of the week.

Yikes, I was beginning to think I was the only person who used Mandriva.
Been using it since Mandrake 6.1 - I'm running 2008.1 on the machine at home and 2009.0 in a VM on the machine I use at work. Looking forward to scripting all sorts of goodies in Python when my N900 arrives.

Seriously considering switching to Debian so that I can get the Maemo 5 SDK on my main machine,
Can't think of any reason why the SDK wouldn't run under Mandriva. I haven't had time to get it set up and tested yet, but I'll make some notes available as and when I do.

Anyway, getting back on topic for a moment...

In other news, I am really hoping MPD were being pessimistic and they get stock next week. When they said delayed to mid-November I never expected them to miss my birthday (27th) entirely and end up in December. They are still claiming late November on Nokia Retail, I never knew Dec 3rd was late November, idiots!
That's what I'm hoping, that they've said December 3rd to give themselves some breathing space, so they can get on with actually dispatching peoples orders instead of answering the phone and/or live chat all the time.

I think that there are a whole load of people here hoping that is the case - myself included...

Can't believe I still have 11 day to wait - so much for exclusive and first...

Im sure they have different staff dealing with enquiries to the ones dealing with deliveries.

Tomorrow should be interesting anyway.

I feel the same...... I pre-ordered with MPD on the 6th October, I am sick of waiting

This is good news if Nokia has is in their warehouse then all the other sellers should be stocking as we speak so we all should receive n900's during the week (fingers crossed)

Expansys count Saturdays as a working day, so that brings them in line with MPD.

The Vodaphone coming soon page is a big fat waste of time.

Thats gonna be my path for getting at the n900 as I dont have the initial outlay of 500 smackers this near to Xmas. Thats if Vodafone are actually gonna get it before Xmas that is...
