Has any one spoke with Nokia (UK obviously) and asked them what's going on now?

Yep, gave them my PAC ages ago. Status still says pending PAC as they said it would till it ships.

Post back if you have any info, try telling them you have your PAC code and do they have the handset for delivery now...

Just got this incredibly illuminating reply:

The handset is expected in late November for us to send out.

    Kind regards.

Late November... that would be now then..

No the one from MPD - the one that the straw clutchers have latched onto.

here it is again, curious to know what you think:

I got this email from MPD:

    Dear Mr *************

    Order No. ******

    Thank you for your order.

To move your existing mobile number ************* to the Vodafone network from your existing network well require a PAC code. If you dont have a PAC code its easy to obtain one by calling your existing network. For information on how to do this, please see keeping your number on our website ( http://www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk/...eepNumber.aspx ) which includes a list of network telephone numbers.

Alternatively we can connect your new phone with a brand new Vodafone number and dispatch the handset immediately.

Is that bold part right there worth getting excited about, or am I just being naieve?
No, I reckon that's just a stock email they send out and they haven't bothered to change the info to reflect the fact they haven't actually got the N900 yet. I just checked my order with them and it still states 'pending stock'.

I just spoken with Nokia, they say that my order should be shipped today and that I will receive and email once shipped...

Let's remember Nokia work until 17:00 hrs, I have no idea what time the cut of point is for them getting the orders out to the shipping company (UPS?)

The issue with PAC codes and Credit checks on networks is thatthey only last for a certain amount of time. I can't remember how long before they expire but if you preordered more than a month ago you will likely have to get you PAC code again or go through your credit check again.

I don't really know what to make of Nokia except to say the company is very badly run, especially in the marketing and logistics departments...and...

I hate it when people come on here and defend Nokia - their behaviour is indefensible (in my honest opinion) - FULL STOP!!!

Unsure about credit checks, but PAC is valid for 30 days only.
