It helps instead of loads of users searching though old threads to find help they could go to a section just for "normal beginner" users, not the programmers or developers.

seeing as the Nokia 770/N800 manual isn't at all helpfull it would be an idea of telling users the basics ie: installing apps, what is the repository and how to use it.

I wouldn't call myself a noob seeing as I already have been using a Linux OS for some time now and a gadget geek but the Nokia website and even Maemo dont provide you with any proper guidance on performing such things as installation.

Its a good idea, but only if its a sticky moderated thread.. maybe comments could be posted, but someone would have to own the top thread and it would have all the information in it.. for example.. just today a great memao mapper maps repository link page was put up.. that could be its own sticky, or better still on the maemo mapper main comment sticky

some good info - but maybe too much hacking for some newcomers (especially ones not used to any kind of *nix system)

I find lots of useful stuff using Google - but it takes time...

for example, I just found this site http://mydigihound.com/?cat=3
scroll down to "n800 how-tos" to see some simple quick things for people just starting with the n800

Maybe it will fly this time.
