Ok,

Temporary fix in place, work ongoing for a final solution.

Strange.
This is other different problem.

If you want to read an interesting discussion about it: http://lists.maemo.org/pipermail/mae...er/021588.html

Like an abstract, this should fix it (but to do it at your own risk):
  • In your X86 target:
Code:
rm /targets/FREMANTLE_X86/opt
mkdir /targets/FREMANTLE_X86/opt
  • In your ARMEL target:
Code:
rm /targets/FREMANTLE_ARMEL/opt
mkdir /targets/FREMANTLE_ARMEL/opt

Im trying to install pymaemo from the extras-devel repository and I get the same error described in the beginning of the thread.

no hash entry in release file /var/lib/apt/lists.new/repository.maemo.org_extras-devel_dists_fremantle_Release

is anybody having this issue while installing pymaemo on their N900 ?

any help appreciated.

I just wanted to install python on my N900, Ive worked around the problem for now by installing PYGTKeditor available in the apps downloads.
It installed python and its bindings as they were dependencies.

hope that helps you for now...

pls, if anyone know what the problem with the repoistory is or if there is a fix being worked upon ?

many thanks

I am still having issues. My N900 just arrived and this is the first time I've tried connecting to extras-testing & extras-devel and I am unable to grab the Packages file (though I can access it through the web browser).

Everything seems to be working fine on the N800 right now though.

Edit: Nevermind. I'm an idiot and had a typo.
