Hi,

First, let me say that since this is a first bpost by an N800 newbie, expect a few more questions... I love this thing so far, but, honestly, I'm perplexed by a few of its "inner workings." So, it's nice to meet all of you.

Ok... My question...

I have exported my contacts from a web-based PIM that I've been using for quite a while now (http://www.group-office.com) in vCard format. But, when I try to import the file into the "stock" Contacts app on the N800, I get an error message that says:
Import failed.

Format no recognized.
Is there a working sample vCard file somewhere that I can view and compare with mine? (My vCard file is v2.1, if that makes a difference.)

(As an aside, I also tried exporting/importing a CSV file, but quickly found out that that won't work -- unless there's a trick that I don't know about.)

Thanks for your help,
Tim

It seems ITOS is rather picky about the vcard format: embedded pictures, even a [return] are a definite nogo.

I gave up trying to copy my contacts list from my phone to GPEContacts...

Hmmm... It would definitely be helpful to see a working vCard file then. Reformattng an existing, non-working file would be easy enough.

Update from Nokia:
We acknowledge your inquiry concerning the vCard compatibilities of your Nokia N800 Internet Tablet.

Tim, in order to import vCards on your Nokia N800 Internet Tablet, we recommend utilizing Bluetooth wireless technology and vCards that have one contact per card / file.

We hope that you find this information to be helpful.
