1. For a few days, my N800 would reboot itself every couple of hours...and if it had been dormant for over 5 hours and was then used to surf or read RSS, it would reboot on connect. The issue "fixed itself" with no intervention on my part.

2. My bluetooth connectivity has completely died. I can't connect to any devices...the machine just hangs and then gives up.

3. Small tasks like switching RSS feeds take 100% of the proc and freeze the unit for far too long.

4. My RSS Reader now crashes whenever it tries to update a single feed or all feeds. Rebooting makes no difference

No new software has been installed for weeks. I'm willing to accept some bugginess because I understand that the Maemo platform is really for tinkerers more than the general public...but this is pretty ridiculous. Considering that the N800 is a second generation device on the third major revision of the Maemo platform, the stability and QA is unbelievably bad. Guess I'll just have to reflash the entire unit to see if I can recover, which is disgraceful.

That's your answer right there.

The built-in RSS reader is impressively buggy and useless. I've had all sorts of stability issues stem from its usage, so I just dropped it from my workflow on the device and things got much better.

Aside from the spontaneous reboot issue, I haven't had that many problems with the N800. I will agree that the occasional "stalls" and unexpected quits can be annoying, I've found them to be almost directly related to websites with huge and numerous flash content which also wreaks havok on my desktop system as well (900MHZ G4). So I've cut the bugger some slack

I've actually found the most stable app is the browser, so I don't have many complaints there. But RSS is the killer app for me...and I absolutely require bluetooth connectivity. I wouldn't be so bent out of shape if my issues were related to things that *I* did to the unit., but I haven't made any significant changes and these things just broke. Bad.

You might try a reflash. Seems to clear up most things for a lot of people.

I can't say that I've had any of the major issues experienced by the community on either my 770 or N800. Both of them are quite heavily modified from stock, too. :-\

Maybe I got a golden unit or something but I have not experienced any major issues. I use the RSS reader daily, adding new streams every now and then. The browser is okay as long as I don't hit too many heavy flash sites. Maybe I am not taxing my unit enough. I do have one problem though. I tried to install Samba and it did not install properly and now I can not upgrade it or uninstall it. Is there a way to get rid of it?
