If anyone actually has an n900, could you carry out the following steps and tell me if you can get ORP (Open Remote-Play) working?

Dashhacker:
I haven't written a guide for Linux yet because it's very simple.

Things you need installed: subversion (SVN) and wget
ORP will run on any kernel version, on any Linux distribution. Though a modern compiler is required, GCC v4.x and fairly new binutils, autoconf, automake.

# svn checkout http://open-rp.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ open-rp
# cd open-rp
# make release
# cd ORP-1.3-SVN-Linux
# ./orpui
this is the original thread post, which details how to get the program to actually work once you've got the program running.

You'll need a homebrew'd PSP to get necessary config files.

Thanks guys, and i'd love to test this one out for myself, but my N900 got delayed AGAIN!

Cheers!

Why is it "such a simple test", please?

Just install Scratchbox, the Maemo SDK, compile it for the ARMEL architecture, and send me the binary plus the homebrew'd PSP by post? ;-)

I'm still trying to work out where the various keys are and it took me ten minutes to work out how to make a call!

Give me time.

Well thanks for the interest either way guys

@andre
it's not about actually usingthe app per se, more just seeing if it can work

the dev is pretty helpful so he could hopefully help us to get it running on our N900s!

Please confirm that you did understand the technical issues I mentioned. Thanks in advance.

I ran it in the SDK. It compiles and runs. But it segfaulted when I pressed the "Import" button. I don't have a PSP, so that's all I can really tell you.
