I love my N800 but recently I find I have been using it less and less as it isn't as hands on as my old Palm Tungsten. It doesn't really fit well in my pocket and the interface is a bit sluggish at times. I do find it very handy when I do use it (either when I'm at my desk, or around the house) but I'm seriously thinking of replacing it with either a new PDA or maybe a smartphone (unfortunately I can't replace it with the N900 because no one in Canada will carry it or allow me to use it on their network (Nokia should pressure our providers more I think)).

What can I do to utilize my N800 better? How can I make it more portable then it already is?

Well to make it more portable you could buy a belt clip holder and holster it on the side. I don't have problems with putting the n800 in my pocket myself.

I currently have a Nintendo DS carrier with belt clip but it is too bulky when I'm driving (not to mention the fact that it looks silly on my waste).

The N800 got very portable when I started to wear blazers.. It fits nicely in the inside pocket. And, as I still need the PDA (b/c of the much better calendar etc.) the PDA will nicely offset the weight of the N800 by keeping the PDA in the other pocket.

I can't ware blazers to work (not part of the dress code) and it looks silly having a huge bulged in my dress pants.

What about a Skype Phone for your home???

Dress code? Ah. Is that very common? I've never worked at a place with dress code. Sounds fascist to me, unless you're a bus driver, behind a sales counter or some such, where customers need to be able to identify you as an employee.

I do use my N800 as a Skype Phone when I'm on the road, and if I replace it with another device I will probably only use the device as a Skype Phone.

The company I work for is critical about office professionalism. That means I always wear dress pants, shirt and tie. I personally don't care since I spent 9 years in the military where I had to wear combat every day (the suit and tie is just another uniform, but one that I can still be creative with). There is nothing fascist about asking your employees to wear suits to work. It is just business etiquette.

Hm. Could be a Europe vs. America thing. Anyway, if you can't wear a blazer or jacket at work then of course the shape and size of the device will matter in a totally different way of course.

One problem I have at work is that there is no WiFi signal I can use to access the main features on my N800 (like using it as a Skype Phone). I've tried to dabble with the PC-Connectivity manager to see if I can use my Laptop (connected online via eithernet) as a router for my N800 but nothing seems to work. Is there a manual somewhere I can use to have my N800 connect to the internet via my laptop when a WiFi signal doesn't exist?
