Two liqbase questions:

1) Photos seems to be stored in a directory under user home/user/.liqbase and I seem to be unable to get to that directory. Does the . infront of a directory mean it is hidden?
I'd like to get to one of the photos in there and get it out

2) I really like how the subway sample map is displayed in the app.
Is there a way to add and view your own maps?

Thanks

Yes the dot means it is hidden. You can get at it with emelfm2. You might have to launch emelfm2 from root in Xterm to delete those files, I don't remember.

Are you using the standard file manager? By default it hides most . directories. Use emelFM2 as a file manager or you can browse to it via terminal

"cd /home/user/.liqbase"

Then if you know which file name your picture has then just do

"mv nameoffile.jpg /home/user/"

Or to combine the two

"mv /home/user/.liqbase/nameoffile.jog /home/user"

As for your second question, I don't know. I wish, I have the DC Metro maps on my tablet and it's a really nice implementation in liqbase.

This is taken from sjgadsby's post in this thread.

---------
1. Open the Applications menu.
2. Tap "Utilities".
3. In the Utilities sub-menu that opens, tap "X Terminal".
4. In the X Terminal window that opens, type (or cut-and-paste) exactly the following:
Code:

ln -s /home/user/.liqbase/sketches/ MyDocs/.images/liqbase

5. Press/tap enter.
6. Close X Terminal.

A "liqbase" directory will then be available under "Images" from within the File manager.

i like the symlink idea, it was kindof a mistake to put the folders how I did.
the liqbase-playground is going to be slightly different though, media is going to be living inside a network syncable (and taggable) database.

there will be much easier ways to get at your media as well as to add new items:

as for the maps there are a number of ways it is possible, in the new playground I have a zoomable map of my local area (hard coded like last time) but I dont see why we cant just add an entry to the database and tag it as "map" to allow it to open in the map viewer.

you should be able to add maps of areas that interest you.

(this idea extends from - upload an image your account on server, tag as "mydesktop" to have it set as your background replacing everything else)

I also have a test of automatic google maps downloads, someone else can play later.

lots and lots in the pipeline..

this is a massive overview of my unruly garden (being pruned and polished as we speak..):

a few days ago, I added liqmap to extras-devel for diablo and extras-testing for fremantle.
it uses the scalable map engine, but lets you select any picture.
it persists the picture selection and zoom level so works like you need
just copy map to your device (or with n900 take a photo when you need a new map...)
and use it

Sounds great anyway to add GPS functionality to liqmap? Maybe the framework could be extended so that we can provide orientation, a long-lat coordinate and scale and liqmap does the rest? Not sure if there is a standard way of doing this. Frankly I would like to see a lot of apps redeveloped using your framework. I can't wait till all of this breaks out of your sandbox and we have usable individual applications.
