I'm in the USA and ordered from Amazon.
Tried all the powering off / multiple boots checking to see if it's a intermittent issue with no change.
This is just a theory but based on the total lack of any audio or noise when recording / on a call I wouldn't be surprised if the microphone simply wasn't in there.
Would really love it if Nokia would get back to me on my open ticket with them.
I've had the same problem last night as well. Rebooting today solved it, but I wouldn't be surprised if pulseaudio or the driver would be behind the issue.
Yup confirm it's the bug with the app, no mic issue.
Have you any proof? I have n900 on which recorder was never installed, but mic suddenly switched off. So I'm sure, that there should be another reason.
So I would really appreciate proof, that there is a bug in recorder, to reduce chance of disabled mic by deinstalling recorder. I also can try to search for similar app, which may cause mic problem on the phone, where recorder is not installed.

The app records fine in General profile.
When I switched to Offline profile, doesn't record anything.
Switch back to General profile, it records.
There's your proof it's the bug with the app, not a mic issue
