My guess is - it's a problem in the GPE-calendar install file. As suggestet - might be in the wrong repository - or better said: In the right rep yet the wrong file/links.
It definatley is NOT a problem with extras enabled/disabled.
My N810 is freshly refreshed, the calendar would have been the first software to be installed.
Sorry for not responding to this (or to the private emails) sooner: I have been traveling for work for the past few weeks and have not been able to look into this.
tso is right about the problem: Diablo extras incorrectly contains the 20081212 version of gpe-calendar but not the other libraries. I don't know how that happened (even if I made a mistake it should not have been possible to promote gpe-calendar without its dependencies) but however it happened it needs to be fixed.
I will ask the debmaster to remove the 20081212 version from extras, leaving the previous (20080114) version, which should then be installable. I will reply back here once that has happened.
By the way, I hope, over the Christmas holiday period, to have a chance to create another GPE Beta incorporating the fixes I made during the port to Fremantle, which I hope might fix the home applet crash problem.
I have been informed that the faulty packages have been removed. Unfortunately I am travelling at the moment without my N810 so I can't verify that GPE Calendar is now installable again from Extras. Can someone please try it and report if there are still problems?
I can't get the gpe calendar to show up on the desktop even though it is listed on the home applet menu. If you try to select it and click ok, nothing happens and I go back to the menu, it is unchecked.
If you install gpe summary, then the summary will show up on the desktop. Any way to fix this so i don't need to install gpe summary?

Sorry, the gpe-calendar homepage applet is no longer supported -- no one ever ported it to chinook. The gpesummary applet is the only one supported now.
I think I fixed the bug which caused the no longer working applet to be installed (so it appeared in the menu but didn't work).

Strange, but I thought I had it working on diablo. I see that gpe summary requires contacts and todo list to be installed in order to get this applet on the homescreen, but I had only calendar and erminig and was able to get it to show up on the homescreen before. Is there a way to keep gpe summary without contacts and todo?
The other thing, i don't know where the settings are in calendar to change the way it looks. For example, I remember when you added the feature to change the beginning of the week to start on Sunday. I'm currently running 0114-2 that i installed yesterday (had to re-flash my device so I don't remember what version I was using before). How do I get back those options or am I forgetting a step?
Hello Graham Cobb, I installed the version of gpe summary svn20080114-2, but it has shown the tasks, only the calendar, I am trying to install the version svn20081212-3, but do not find in repositories. On top of that I saw that posted something about just above. If possible could send the file. Deb to my email, contato.ismael@gmail.com
And I had to reinstall the OS on the n810 and use a lot applications gpe summary, contacts and tasks.
Thanks
The repository with svn20081212-3 is Extras-Devel. There is no GPE-summary in there. I wonder if the Summary applet is now part of Calendar. You will find http://www.gronmayer.com/it/index.php helpful when you're looking for particular packages.
Can anyone tell me, why when I go to close GPE calendar...it just minimizes to the taskbar? I have the home applet running but if I want to close completely I have to do it from the menu. I did a reflash about a week or so ago..I know it didnt used to have this behavior, if the applet was running it would close. I am running 20080114. Any ideas?
