I can't get the gpe calendar to show up on the desktop even though it is listed on the home applet menu. If you try to select it and click ok, nothing happens and I go back to the menu, it is unchecked.

Sorry, the gpe-calendar homepage applet is no longer supported -- no one ever ported it to chinook. The gpesummary applet is the only one supported now.
I think I fixed the bug which caused the no longer working applet to be installed (so it appeared in the menu but didn't work).
