I have finally managed to get a sms from Nokia to click on their link to install Nokia messaging - having been able to register a new account and also select N900 as my current phone.
The problem is now when clicking on the link from their sms it only provides an offer to install Nokia MEssaging for various versions of Symbian which clearly the N900 is not.
Can someone now help as to how I obtain the correct Nokia Messaging for N900
Many thanks - i just presumed (as I am sure others will) that when setting up the email you click on your normal email client - as I did with Tiscali - I didn't know Nokia messaging was already in their and found no guidance for finding it in the on line manual.
All i can say is that it was there for me (N900 from Nokia UK) in the list, i just didnt look carefully. what i found was that although list of service providers was alphabetical - Nokia Messaging was 2nd on list under Mail for Exchange so check the list and look at the top.
Email - then click on Email drop down menu - New Account - aacount set up welcome opens - Next - account setup account details - Service Providers - Nokia Messaging
No matter what username or password I enter into Nokia Messaging, it always takes me to the "Advanced Setup" page where I have to enter my inbound/outbound server details. Very frustrating as I know my email.nokia.com username and password are valid, but Nokia Messaging fails to find my details. Guess I should report this as a bug.
Oh and bret - the "Nokia Messaging" entry did disappear for me once when I had a flakey cellular network connection, it reappeared a little while later.

Nokia messaging knows the server address for all the popular email providers. You put in the details of your hotmail or gmail account for example, not your email.nokia.com account settings. its that simple.
Only if its a provider it does not know will it present you with the advanced options. but most are there.
I don't see Nokia Messaging in my list of providers. Looked a few times but it was never there. I live in Israel and have a US version N900, not sure if that would make a difference.
