On another note- has anyone else pre-ordered just by giving them your phone number for a call back "when they're in stock"? Judging by how (un)reliable MPD have been, I feel there's a chance I may have just been fobbed off...wonder if there's anyone else in the same boat?

You've been fobbed - you need to preorder online by giving all your details :P - you will then see the lovely "Pending Stock" screen we all see - it's quite beautiful really

I dreamt last night that my N900 was delivered (from MPD) and it was awsome! What a disappointment, to find out when I woke up this morning that it was only a dream. I can't even go to sleep without thinking about this damn phone! Anyone else been having similar dreams?

DHL delivered a parcel to me at 10pm last nigt - was in utter shock! - then i found out it was just my gf's xmas present i ordered last week... oh well.... Was more nightmares then dreams i think

That is of course completely non-feasible. Can you imagine them calling back hundreds of people just to say they have it in stock? I'd rather have this time used to ship these damn things asap rather than wasted on pointless calls.

I stopped anxiously refreshing Order Tracker facility as I know that once my order gets shipped, I'll get automated email notification anyway. A friend of mine who's also waiting for N900@MPD has ordered HTC HD2 on contract yesterday (for his wife ;), got his order completed nearly instantly and also got automated confirmation email as well. That makes me sure that I'll get same sort of email once my N900 parcel hits delivery van, so I just sit back and wait.

i'm actually getting some of the worst nights sleep ever these days.
Last night kept having those dreams about the n900 except my brain mixed it up with my course work. Dreampt i was designing a new interface for the device and was conserned it wouldnt be as good as maemo's original one. Silly dream and kept waking me up too! So now im very tired, have lots of work to do, and still have no n900. baah

I didn't know DHL delivered that late
