Yeah, I know it was debated in other threads, but I thought a summary for that debate would be nice to mention here ..
How can Nokia find out the transaction date on the Credit Card .. ?
Just to be clear, I'm not summarizing the other thread here, this is just my opinion. I mentioned the credit card charge date, because in the case of a dispute, that would hold up legally, since that is the date you paid them.

The summary is - A preorder is not an order (it's little more than an queue of orders to be processed), thus no invoice. When the vendor has the product, charges your card then an invoice is created. Otherwise, your warranty would also start on the preorder date which would suck in this case.
In my case I preordered on 10/21 from Newegg. My invoice date is 11/25 when they charged my credit card.
Just got off the phone with Nokia's rebate dept. 1 800 436 6394 and was told the rebate was valid when purchasing the phone from Nokia online. Hope that helps
one of the requirements to get the rebate is to activate an ovi account using ur device. i already have one. will i need to set up another account then?

You don't need to create another account. You have to provide your user ID when you send in the rebate form. I guess then, they'll verify if is a working account.
okay when sending the rebate can you making a copy of upc or do you have to cut it out of your box.. quick..not sure if its on the instruction but lazy to look at it. also about ovi account?
