Do you need a sim card when you sign up? I never used one. And can it be any sim card?

yes you need a sim card they give you, and you just put it in. I got the unlimited data, web, and 500 mins for $59.99

Sure. I got the $30 Even More Plus 500 minute talk plan with the $25 smartphone data add-on. Sure, for $5 more I could have gotten unlimited texts, but I perhaps get 10 texts a year.

I do have to wonder why they cannot provide a best-estimate as to taxes and fees. It isn't like the amounts are a mystery to them or anything.

Hmm that's pretty expensive?
Is that sim only or contract with free N900?

T-Mobile has all of their plans, in the US at least, on their website for you to browse: Even More Plus plans are the ones without a contract. They get your IMEI number from your phone, give you a SIM card, and you can have unlimited data and messaging without a contract for $59.99. I switched over to the 2-line version of it for $109.99 on Monday when I received my N900 from NokiaUSA. Ported my number over from ATT, after a small hitch in that (just needed a quick call to tmobile) and it's worked fine ever since.

I also signed up last night for the $59.99 plan. T-Mobile coverage has gotten much better by me; I'd say both their 3G and 2G networks seem faster than their AT&T equivalents now (prolly cause all those iPhones congesting the network). I must say, pleasantly surprised, and I'll most likely be cancelling my AT&T plan in the next week after I have thorougly tested all locations.

yeah the 3G is awesome, I have had trouble only in some buildings but besides that it is amazing...much better than att.

I was referring only to Tmob USA, the unlimited plans with no contract are the best deals you can get relative to other gsm carriers; i.e. ATT.

So I guess you can't subscribe to data ONLY without contract?? It has to be EVEN MORE PLUS which include voice plan..but i don't want voice plan. That sucks.
