You must be new to the English language. "With comprehensive codec support" means that you need to have the codec installed for the specific file you're trying to play.

'Decent' codec support would have been fine, 'comprehensive' is an exaggeration.

correction: the summit firmware didn't support ac3 - but the sales device (with fw 42-11) supports ac3 out of the box. just checked it with two ~700mb xvid/ac3 movie files.

Are you sure that you haven't installed Decoders Support, it claims to add AC-3 support
