I missed the point of posting it here... And posting it in general. If russian-speaking user gonna see your post here, it will have no effect It's good only for search engines.
    Nothing personal.

Maybe he means a community of the oldest Russian users.

I'm picturing a community of 100+ year old Russians eating yogurt and video conferencing back and forth using N900's...

    I could be wrong though.

    BTW, cheers wazd.

(Edit)DISCLAIMER: Only addresses claims made in english!!!!

The OP says maemoworld.ru is the oldest russian language website dedicated the n900. Nobody has produced any evidence to the contrary and seeing as how the n900 wasn't even KNOWN about until earlier this year, having registered in 2008 certainly lends a lot of credence to his claims. I, for one, believe that he is telling the truth. Not speaking russian though, I don't have much use for the site. I suppose I could use google translate... hmm i might check it out.

You really think that before 29.08 there was no site dedicated to maemo devices for russian-speaking users?
He didn't claim to be dedicated to maemo devices, only the n900.

This situation with people claiming they are the only source in certain language is very familiar here. We did see it with "All about ..." things and other bloggers in English speaking world.

Sorry guys, you are not the only ones and certainly not the oldest community. .
Neither of those websites are dedicated communities with the singular focus of the n900. They are irrelevant to the OP's claims.

I understand a desire for Ferra.ru to step onto "uncharted" area but it is hardly a news. http://internet-tablet.com/ for example has been covering Maemo for almost 2 years already.
Again, the OP is not talking about maemo in general or previous maemo devices. He is claiming to the first RUSSIAN language DEDICATED COMMUNITY with the SINGULAR focus of the N900.

Not sure what you're referring to but in all liklihood I could prove you wrong.

No hard feelings meant to anyone. Its late and I'm irritated by something else so I'm taking it out on an internet forum rather than murdering people and causing general mayhem. I apologize.

mmurfin87, what you have said had made a sense if there wouldn't be Russian version of the original poster's message. It claims generic Maemo coverage, not narrowly focused on N900.

So what I said still holds and KiRiK has tried to edit the thread title to reflect that (but was unable to fix it).

New sites are nice to have, of course. But let the users themselves evaluate your resource. Claims for "oldest" within few months of inception are hardly qualifying as substantial.

P.s. Even though my registration on TMO is about the same time, you can check my maemo.org account for "age". :-) If only that would mean anything...
