Just make sure you don't tell them it's the N900 you'll be using for the plan, just to be sure, just say you're using it on a dumb phone, a great example would be the razr!!!! As for the other APN, there's always a small chance of being charged.
What do you mean by APN?? I can change it right? Worse case they will tell me to upgrade to a smartphone plan??

APN = Access Point Name

If you want to use the $9.99 plan, no matter what you do, do not tell them you're using it with a smartphone. The worst they can do is cut your data plan. But in my case, I've been using the smartphone data plan's APN on my $5.99 T-Zone plan for at least two years or more and I don't have any problems with them. But be warn, there's always a chanced that you might get charged for using that APN.

Are T-Zones available with pre-paid? If so do you know the cheapest pre-pay plan with T-zones?

T-Zone is an old plan, what T-Mobile consider as a grandfather plan. Which mean it's not offer anymore. From what I know, T-Mobile don't offer those cheap data plans($9.99 plan) as data only(as in no voice).

If you're getting 3G/3.5G with the T-Zone plan (the $5.99 and $9.99), how fast is your download and upload speeds? Are you getting the full bandwidth of the 3G/3.5G or are you getting just EDGE speeds or the low end of 3G speeds? Just wondering if T-Mobile is capping you on the low end, versus if you purchased the $25 smartphone plan, they might open up the gates and give you faster download/upload speeds. I am on the fence on which plan to choose.

I'm from NYC. Depending on the timeframe and where I am, I range from 800k-2.something mb for download. Don't quote remember the upload. As for the latency, I range from 77-128.

Wow, that's pretty good on a T-Zone plan. Something to think about. Thanks.

Go to Settings, Internet Connections, Connections, (select or highlight your T-Mobile Internet profile), then tap Edit, Next, change/type in the Access point name to the appropriate one and press Finish. Hope that helps.
