    Hey,

I just downloaded an audio podcast in .mp4 format.

It is recognized by the media player, even its ID3-Tags (cover, title etc.) but when I hit the play button nothing happens at all.

Is there any codec I need? I was wondering because I thought the N900 would support .mp4 files out of the box

    Suggestions?

I also have that problem. This might be a bug since the N900 should play them.

mpeg4 is a container format. You need to find out what the audio stream is encoded in, or provide a link so others can have a look

.mp4 is also a standard video format container. m4a is often used for audio content.

    The file is at:
    http://www.619bearcast.com/podcasts/...arcast-001.m4a

According to iTunes it is a AAC file encoded with GarageBand.

I'm having trouble with m4a files too. I have a whole folder of them in the MyDocs/music/Alison\ Moyet/Singles (for example).
When I use the file manager to view that folder, they're all there, and if I try to open them, Music Player opens and plays them just fine, but I don't see any of them if I launch Music Player and browse them.

Is there some method of getting them into music player?
