In this pic u can see that the person has their own pic when in conversations.

In my screenshot i only get 'you' with no pic, how do i manage to get my pic in there, any ideas?

Edit... i do have my number in the device as a contact with my pic.

I have the same situation but the suggested picking of a picture makes no difference as I had that already. guess the marketing department simply mocked that one up!

Nope, Iīve got my picture in my conversations.

I think you may have to login to something like skype from your desktop set the picture there, and itīll be downloaded to the N900 when you next log on. My skype contact picture came on that way.

The pictures are all there in the prence and have been since I added them to the phone. The original point as posted by OP still stands.

Screenshot says "SMS", but Marketing picture says "Chat".
And I must say that it works in Chat for me.

Yup, I think that's it - as I understand it Conversations will pull a profile pic from each IM service, but there isn't one for SMS. Which is a shame - someone want to file an RFE bug?

I actually do have images for all contacts.

Use Hermes application under utilities to get contact information from facebook account. (Only names, birthdays and profile picture). If any matches with your contact the image will be updated automatically.

did none of you guys read the perfect and correct solution amorek13 posted above?!?

"see the green circle on top of wifi click on it go to availability and click on the account you will be able to do a different pic (if you like) for each im or same you choice "
If you click on the account, you can edit it as you wish, including add an avatar. Just click the small avatar box, and choose a default clip art avatar or a custom pic of your own. It's very intuitive and even allows you to crop the image to make it fit well.

He is not talking about his own image. Is he?
I was explaining how to get images for his contacts.
