In the status area on my N900 there is a round button with the text "REC" on it. When I press it, I get black videos in my Video Clips directory. This happens no matter what kind of light I'm in and whether or not I have the camera lens uncovered. Is it supposed to do that? If not, what am I doing wrong? I couldn't find the answer in the manual or on this web site.

It's supposed to capture everything that happens on screen. But I have the same problem that playback shows only black.

I think it's a codec issue, I'll try hook my N900 to the pc and try and play a movie.

Perhaps it's for the front-facing "3G" camera next to the screen on the top left?

It's the currently broken screen recording feature of the load applet.
