How about StartDict for Nokia N900. I know there is one for N800.

The "zoom in/out" buttons work fine when viewing an image using the built-in Photo Viewer.

An app that use 3D style scrolling of music album cover like iPhone. Or even 3D video thumbnails view scrolling.

An app that let you password protected a particular folder.

An app that has everything Google Map Nav does...

list of apps I would like to see:

Calibre - Awesome multi platform Book Reader or mobipocket
Xbox Friends (hated everyone had this and no matter how much I searched couldnt find it for the iphone
    Mobbler or other last.fm client
    A decent online fps
Typing of the dead (dont think this has ever been ported to linux but would be awesome on the n900)

Also question has prob been asked elsewhere but is porting wine over possible? Could see screen size being an issue but this would open all kinds of other awesome!

Porting over wine is not possible since wine is only on x86 (not ARM).

this might be a dumb question but i keep hearing that the n900 can run normal unix programs. can you run programs like tweetdeck without having it ported to maemo 5?

    hold the smart comments. thanks.

I guess my requests would be
    1. A decent mediaplayer based on VLC with better codec-support
    2. (Essential for me) A bookreader
