Hi everyone,

I've recently become vaguely involved in the Mer/Fremantle-not-just-on-N900 effort and I started to backport a few random system packages as a challenge and with the aim of perhaps having a more bug-free experience on my N800. I figured that there are probably plenty of people who might be interested in trying out some of my backports, so I've started this thread to post links for you to download along with short descriptions (so that you at least know a little about what you're installing), which I'll be updating every once in a while:

That said, I've tested each of the packages on my own N800 running Diablo by doing dpkg -i ./*.deb, and I've left out upgrades that I found to seriously impair the user experience.

Hopefully we can get the community SSU effort going to make this sort of thing more formal and to make the upgrades more smooth...
