Do we just go back to our N97s or would there –eventual- be firmware updates that would improve/complete/fix the N900?

I ask as after the last firmware update on the N97 (Update v20), it became nearly flawless and moving “UP” to the N900 you would think it is a step ahead not the other way around.

Basically; would the N900 ever become a better N97?

I would appreciate your inputs.

TD!

To me N97 just crap. N97 mini has better quality build and better hardware stability. My friend got N97 for 3 weeks and it stopped sending any messaging to people and he is using the latest V20. He found that the N97 is very slow, slower than N95 to do some task. But now he sold his N97 and got N97-mini and he is loving it. Oh the N97 got some sort of stuffed up camera lens cover designed. It scratch the lens and you can't take picture with flash on.

I would not go for the N97.. Was almost fallen into the trap but now my N900 is coming to me hopefully it shipped tomorrow.

I would go for N900 any day. It is cheaper and faster

In hardware, the N900 is better than the N97, yeah?
The OSes are too different to compare directly. Kinda like comparing Windows Mobile with Windows Vista. Windows Mobile is clearly better for your HTC mobile. But you can do so much more with Vista.

I believe the N900 is not a good choice for those who would consider a N97 instead. The things the N97 can't do is what you have to care about if the N900 is for you. If the N97 fills your needs, then it's probably a better match for you. It's better at phone-centric things.

To be honest, those devices can't really compare.. sure n900 is missing a some "phone" features compared to n97.. however the n900 at this point has a huge amount of "computer" features the n97 will never have.

And yes.. the n900 will most like end up beating most phones in all kinds of features... its a question about when.. in my eyes its allready one of the most surperior devices on the market atm.

But as it has been pointed out many times.... if your looking for a good device thats a phone first and computer second.. n900 might not be right for you.

hope this helps you a little.

Vista is a pig, its just crap out on ya. I would comparing Windows Vista to Windows 7 lol.

I think N97 is like windows ME and N900 is Windows 7. See my point? ME so buggy and crap, crashes with blue screen regularly and nothing new.

On the other hand Windows 7 has better graphic, stability, management, and No blue screen.

well, Linux is also good as well. Work on all systems lol.

So you get the point, N900 is better

Like maxximuscool, I would not recommend the N97 anyway. Coworker had it, he returned it. He's now on HTC Hero and he's loving it. According to him, the N97 was the worst phone ever and he will never buy another Nokia. I believe about half his phones has been Nokias and he's probably had around 10-12 cell phones.
